I turned 31 over the weekend.  Where does the time go?!  This year I opened for a low key bday.  After Christmas and New Years I was a little burnt out.  

Saturday, on my birthday we went to my fave restaurant Thai in the sky!  It was a gorgeous day and the views there were amazing.  The food, as always, was delish.  I even ventured out of my comfort zone and ordered food that I usually don't.  It was a tad bit too spicy , but it was yummy.  I had to eat in small bites and drink water constantly. Hahaha after lunch we went to the Ashibina shopping center to look for my birthday gift.  M, mentions constantly that I'm a hard person to shop for, so he just let me pick out my own gift.  It was a total mad house there.  The parking lot was so full that we had to park at an adjacent lot and be shuttled to the shopping center.  The few days after New Years is equivalent to the day after Thanksgiving shopping.  There were sales all over the place and stores offer lucky bags.  You buy the bag and you can't look what's inside, it's a blind bag so to speak.  These are pretty fun and lots of the time the customers are pretty happy with what they got.  They sell them until they sell out.  Unfortunately the stores I went do did not have any.  We did go 3 days after new year, it's best to go on New Year's Day.  So I'll remember that next year. For my bday gift I found these Tory Burch flats that I've been trying to order online but they didn't have my size.  So I left a happy girl!  After shopping we headed to a goodbye dinner for a friend that is PCSing.  My friends got me a birthday cake!  It was a good day!

Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!

Well a milestone was hit, my last year of my 20s! Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!  I know I may not look the part, but it doesn't make it any easier.  At the tender age of 29, I've been married for 9 years, have 2 kids, am a stay at home mom, and living in Japan. Life is good.  I am exactly where I am supposed to be and I couldn't wish for anything more.

I didn't really want to make a big fuss over my bday so I didn't ask for much just dinner with my family. We got tickets to go to the Circus this weekend, Morgan was working so we have to wait for the weekend. I also want a new camera but I'm still debating on which to get.  So many cameras so much research to be done!  I'm really leaning towards the Nikon J1, but I think I'm just getting trigger shy. Anyways, most of the day was spent at home with my kids.  Then I got a message on my phone from FB, well I got tons of messages but 1 was really a step above all.

Oh my gosh is he not the cutest ever!  I was getting all watery eyed!  He really is just too cute!  He always wants to celebrate my bday with something big, but after Christmas and New Years I'm always worn out by the time my bday rolls around.  Maybe next year!  That night we went to the best Brazilian BBQ in Okinawa!  We ate till we were full and ate some more!  I had such a food coma that by the time we got home and I got my cake I only ate 1 piece!  I love cake and I never just eat one piece. Haha All in all it was a great Birthday.  On to the next one!

Flashback Friday

Whoa!!!!  I know, we look like a couple of kids!  Well..... we were.  This is Morgan and I in Portland May 2004 for his 21st Birthday, we were visiting from Virgina.  Yup, I had blonde hair...so tragic. haha.  We have really come a long way.  This was a great trip.  Morgan's mom had like 8 parties for his 21st Birthday, ok maybe not 8...but it seemed like a lot!  There was a bash at her house, then there was a get together at the bar his family goes to, then there was a big dinner when we left. Turning 21, ohh to be so young. :p

Birthday at the Beach...

Sorry its been so long.  We had a long hiatus in CA due to the tsunami.  Well we've been home for almost 2 and a half weeks now and boy it feels good to be home.  Not that I do not LOVE California, but its just nice to be home.  Anyway yesterday we celebrated Amelia's BFF's Birthday yesterday at Kadena Marina!! Unfortunately it wasn't the sunniest day but we still had lots of fun.

Lana was turning 2 years old and had a Dora themed party.  Dora was everywhere from the table cloth to the cupcakes, it was a cute party.  Plus Amelia loves Dora so she recognized her right away.  Lana had lots of treats and delicious food.  The true highlight of the party wasn't the adorable decorations, or the bouncy house or the beach, it was the DIRT!  Lana and Amelia bathed themselves in the dirt.  It wouldn't be my first choice for fun, but the girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves playing with the beach toys in the dirt.  I dont think I've ever let Amelia get so dirty.  But I didn't want to be the uptight mom.

Once we could pull the girls away from the dirt..... they got to enjoy the bounce house too. haha Well so did the adults.  Its a work out for sure!  Amelia had fun doing summer saults and bouncing!  I have to admit that the bouncy house was too much fun and I am a firm believer that you are never too old to jump in one!  All in all it was a great day, with good food, good people and good fun.  Amelia was pooped by the end of the day.  We got home I gave her a bath and she ate a small dinner and was out by 7:30pm.    Now I got to get planning on Mills' bday in 2 months!!!
