Happy FIRST Birthday Nolan!!

Nolan’s FIRST  Birthday!

What a momentous occasion! I honestly can’t believe how fast that year went.  My baby isn’t so much a baby anymore.

We moved to an actual HOUSE! {more on that later} So we had Nolan’s first Birthday party at hour new house.  We’ve never been able to have  a party at any of the places we lived because it was always too small.  I’m so happy to finally be in a house that we can have parties at....LOVE IT!

Anyways we had our Oki fam over and it was great.   I was so happy we didn’t have to lug all our food and décor to some hall or park.  It is such a burden.  Having a party at the house was so much easier and less stress, if I forgot something luckily I was at my house! Haha The party was real simple.  Good food + good company= good party.  We had a great time.  We had a Toy Story theme party.  Nolan had a blast, especially during cake time.

Sunday Fun Day...

Sunday Fun day.  I always love these days.  Spending time with the fam is always a good time.  The weather here has been touch and go for the past couple weeks.  One minute it’s rainy and cloudy and the next it’s sunny and warm.  Luckily for us, on Sunday it was a lil of both and we were able to get out and enjoy ourselves.
We went to a park on base.  We took Mills’ soccer goal, soccer ball, kite, and bike.  I wasn’t sure what she wanted to play with, so we brought a variety.  She is such a funny girl; she played with all of them.  We were there for awhile so she had plenty of time to play with it all a couple of times.    I also took my new camera with us!  I ended up getting a Panasonic GF3!  I love it.  I’m still reading up about it in the manual and trying to figure it out.  There is so much info and stuff you can do with this thing it’s a little overwhelming.  But I was able to get lots of good shots of us!  Its crazy the difference between my old camera and my new!  Can’t wait to be fully versed in all its functions!  Haha I doubt that will ever happen.

Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!

Well a milestone was hit, my last year of my 20s! Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!  I know I may not look the part, but it doesn't make it any easier.  At the tender age of 29, I've been married for 9 years, have 2 kids, am a stay at home mom, and living in Japan. Life is good.  I am exactly where I am supposed to be and I couldn't wish for anything more.

I didn't really want to make a big fuss over my bday so I didn't ask for much just dinner with my family. We got tickets to go to the Circus this weekend, Morgan was working so we have to wait for the weekend. I also want a new camera but I'm still debating on which to get.  So many cameras so much research to be done!  I'm really leaning towards the Nikon J1, but I think I'm just getting trigger shy. Anyways, most of the day was spent at home with my kids.  Then I got a message on my phone from FB, well I got tons of messages but 1 was really a step above all.
This post is by my husband

Oh my gosh is he not the cutest ever!  I was getting all watery eyed!  He really is just too cute!  He always wants to celebrate my bday with something big, but after Christmas and New Years I'm always worn out by the time my bday rolls around.  Maybe next year!  That night we went to the best Brazilian BBQ in Okinawa!  We ate till we were full and ate some more!  I had such a food coma that by the time we got home and I got my cake I only ate 1 piece!  I love cake and I never just eat one piece. Haha All in all it was a great Birthday.  On to the next one!

I love the ? candle!

Bios on the Hill

Welp with our last year in Okinawa coming up I'm determined to see all this island has to offer before we leave.  Plus getting out of the house and breathing in some fresh air every once in awhile doesn't hurt.  Oki is small, but beautiful and has so much to do.  So this weekend Bios on the Hill was on the agenda.

I wasn't sure what this place was.  When we first got here back in 2010, I collected a bunch of pamphlets of things to do and this was one of them.

This place was SUPER pretty!  Only 20 min from our house.  This place is famous for their orchids and it smelled so nice!  Just walking in the entrance the aroma was intense. In a good way!  It was kind of like a really pretty park.  We paid to get in and paid for the boat ride.  Unfortunately the boat ride was in Japanese and we couldn't understand anything.  Mills had a good time and it put Nono to sleep so I was happy with it.  Then we played with the animals there.  There were goats and pigs.  You could actually feed the goats and walk them.  Mills had a great time feeding them.  We tried to talk them, but they were a lil too strong for her.  She was just happy to feed them carrots!  There was also an awesome playground with these huge swings.  Mills and her dad explored while Nono and I enjoyed a nice bench and he ate his afternoon lunch.  All in all a really pretty place.  We'll be back in the summer when the lilies are in bloom and we'll pack a lunch for a picnic!
